Twist: Bridgerton Season 3 Will Not Be Focusing on Benedict’s Love Story

After much speculation, we finally know who will lead Bridgerton season 3: Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

Coughlan revealed the news on Sunday, May 15 at a panel for the Netflix show. “Like Lady Whistledown, I have been keeping a secret for quite some time and I can confirm to you all that season 3 is Colin and Penelope’s love story,” she said, per a press release from the streaming service. “I have kept that secret since two weeks into season 2.  This is the first time I am saying it here.”

Netflix revealed the news on Instagram via a society paper written by Lady Whistledown. (So…Penelope herself, I guess?) “Dearest Readers, it is only fair that in this author’s third year chronicling the marriage mart, Mayfair’s social season should find its focus on a third son…as well as a third daughter. This author can confirm that the upcoming season shall follow none other than the budding relationship between Mr. Colin Bridgerton and one Miss Penelope Featherington. With Penelope’s days as a wallflower wearing thin, will she finally take bloom? Time will tell, and as always, so will this author.”

This all may come as a bit of a surprise to those who read the Bridgerton book series. While seasons 1 and 2 followed the order of the Julia Quinn novels, Penelope and Colin’s love story actually takes place in the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. This means the show will be skipping over Benedict Bridgerton’s romance from book three, at least for now. Whether we return to him next season or move ahead to Eloise’s story from book five remains to be seen.

Without giving away spoilers, Romancing Mister Bridgerton focuses on Penelope’s unrequited love for Colin. After he returns from a trip abroad, he starts noticing his friend in a new light…especially after they share a kiss. But will the reveal that she’s Lady Whistledown end the relationship before it even truly begins?

The 12 Most Iconic Moms From TV and Movies

The “mom” characters from TV shows and movies—and their storylines—aren’t always heart-warming. If the mother isn’t killed off shortly after the opening credits (almost every Disney movie), she might be ruthless (Game of Thrones’ Cersei Lannister), vapid (Gossip Girl’s Lily van der Woodsen), or just plain cold-blooded. (Livia Soprano, you might recall, put out a hit on her own son.)

On the more pleasant, less sociopathic end of the spectrum though, you’ll find famous fictional moms who regularly demonstrate the grit and grace—and often the fashion sense—that real-life moms might find themselves aspiring to. The best among them are still flawed (we’ll pass on Carol Brady’s placid smile and Lorelai Gilmore’s jean shorts) but all 12 of the iconic TV and movie moms below have something worth copycatting.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker Are Now Legally Married

It sure looks like Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are now officially husband and wife. People reports that the reality star and Blink-182 musician got legally married in Santa Barbara, California on Sunday, May 15 in front of a few close friends and family.

Legally married is an important point of distinction: This isn’t the first—or last—time the couple will head toward the altar. “They had to legally get married first ahead of their big Italian wedding, which is happening very soon,” the source tells People. “All the details are set and the whole family, including all the kids, are very excited.”

You might be thinking, Wait, aren’t they already married? You would not be wrong: Last month Kardashian and Barker had a “practice” ceremony at a Las Vegas chapel just hours after Barker performed at the Grammys. However, it was not legally binding because they did not obtain a marriage license.

“Found these in my camera roll,” Kardashian wrote on Instagram later to caption a series of photos from the night. “Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license). Practice makes perfect.”

“This will not be the only ceremony to mark the couple’s commitment,” TMZ reported at the time. “We’re told there will be ‘several’ other celebrations, with lots of fanfare.” It seems those reports were true, if we’re now at ceremony two out of…three? A hundred? Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, and soon Italy—maybe third time’s a charm for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. Congrats!

Reminder: Conversations with Friends Is Not a Show About Polyamory

In 2020, Hulu’s adaptation of Sally Rooney‘s novel Normal People splashed across the small screen, providing a coming-of-age story that was a respite from the height of the pandemic. Two years later, the same team has returned to bring us an adaptation of Rooney’s debut novel, Conversations with Friends, which focuses on four characters: our protagonist, Frances (Alison Oliver), her ex-girlfriend Bobbi (Sasha Lane), and married couple Nick (Joe Alwyn) and Melissa (Jemima Kirke). The four of them navigate a series of increasingly complicated relationships, culminating in an affair between Frances and Nick.

Conversations with Friends is different from your typical tale of infidelity. Most affairs are depicted as hidden in the shadows and met with an ultimatum when brought to light. Instead, Frances and Nick’s affair is eventually acknowledged and allowed by Nick’s wife, Melissa. Many have interpreted this, among other aspects of the novel, to mean that Nick and Frances have a polyamorous relationship.

We’re here to tell you that, well, that’s not how polyamory—or any form of ethical non-monogamy—actually works.

Enda Bowe

It’s understandable why folks would interpret the relationship between the characters of Conversations with Friends as polyamorous as opposed to cheating. There are some commonalities: Nick is aware of Melissa’s previous infidelities, Bobbi and Melissa have a flirtatious relationship of their own, Bobbi and Frances are exes, and towards the end of the novel, all four characters coexist while aware of the affair. In many ways, the four of them resemble a subset of polyamory called kitchen table polyamory, where partners are comfortable enough to spend time together sharing a meal, going on group outings, or even taking trips together.

What makes Nick and Frances’s relationship distinctively not polyamorous is the mindset. Polyamorous relationships require disclosure, boundary setting, and a commitment to some sort of relational equity.

Megan Fox Told Her Stylist She Cut a Hole in a Jumpsuit to Have Sex With Machine Gun Kelly

Some of us make sacrifices for fashion. Noted blood drinkers Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, on the other hand, sacrifice fashion for sex. What you are about to learn is an intimate detail about Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s sex life, so consider yourself warned.

On Monday, May 16, Megan Fox shared some photos on her Instagram account from her weekend leading up to Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards, which she attended in Las Vegas in support of her fiancé and possible husband Machine Gun Kelly.

“An introvert in Vegas for three days during eclipse season…just SO much crying in the shower,” Fox wrote in the caption. The first posts in the slide Megan wearing a blue, sparkly jumpsuit with her long dark hair worn down and wavy. But instead of including just another style shot in the next slide, Megan Fox reminds you that she is dating Machine Gun Kelly and they have no chill (or filter). Fox shared a screengrab of a text she sent to her stylist which says, “Was this blue outfit expensive because we just cut a hole in the crotch so we could have sex.” Fox also included a shrug emoji.

Fox’s stylist replied by saying, “I hate you,” along with three crying laughing emojis. “I’ll fix it.”

Why Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly couldn’t just take the jumpsuit off to have sex is a mystery. But to be fair, jumpsuits can be a pain. We have learned so much—too much, one might argue— about Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelley since they became an item in 2020. They drink each other’s blood (for ritualistic purposes of course), MGK once accidentally stabbed himself while trying to impress Fox, and the couple is currently trying to find a wedding venue that can build the gothic “red river” they envision. I’m sure this jumpsuit incident is just the latest in a long line of headline-worthy relationship updates.

Millie Bobby Brown Went Vanilla Almond Blonde for the Stranger Things 4 Premiere

Millie Bobby Brown? Try Millie Bobby Blonde. I’m sorry, I had no choice.

The Stranger Things actor first debuted her new vanilla almond butter blonde hair and bangs to the masses during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which aired on May 13. Brown looked incredibly cool in a head-to-toe purple ensemble by Raisa Vanessa, featuring a shimmery off-the-shoulder top with feathered trim and a pair of high-waisted, skin-tight pants. She topped off the look with a pair of black platform pumps.

Her makeup look was just as glam as her outfit. Brown wore a pink lip, black winged liner, and a bronze contour. However, she kept her hairstyle more low-key, with her blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail and her bangs parted down the middle and swept to the side.

Just a couple of days later, Millie Bobby Brown let her long blonde hair down for the premiere of Stranger Things season four on May 14. Brown attended the event with the rest of the cast in Brookly, NY wearing a white custom Louis Vuitton dress with a bustier-style top, thigh-high slit, and sheer black detailing over one shoulder. She wore her hair down with casual, beachy waves and let her bangs fall naturally in front of her face.

Conversations With Friends Is Sex-Fueled Depression-Core TV

Let us open, on this holy occasion, with a Taylor Swift lyric:

“Sequin smile, black lipstick

Sensual politics

When you are young, they assume you know nothing.”

Such are the essential themes of Conversation With Friends, a Hulu/BBC miniseries out now. Like the 2020 sensation Normal People, this series is adapted from a novel by author Sally Rooney. And like that show, Conversations With Friends is a six-hour advertisement for being depressed in Ireland, with an Anthropologie aesthetic and an almost surreal abundance of sex scenes.

Conversation risks bringing together a horny, armchair-philosopher illuminati, three powerful fandoms united in the desire to fuck in oversized knits. First, we have Rooney readers. They are joined by the audience of the TV show Girls, brought in by Jemima Kirke. Plus Swifties by way of Joe Alwyn, a respected and talented actor who, nevertheless, must be identified first and foremost as Taylor Swift’s Boyfriend. (This article hereby adopts the position that objectifying Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is an act of radical gender equality.)

‘Tis Dublin, in non-COVID times: Frances (Allison Oliver) and Bobbi (Sasha Lane) are undergraduate slam poets who have the kind of destructive close friendship where two people attempt to adopt one identity. They are former partners turned platonic best friends who speak in “we,” and “us,” alienate people at parties, and participate in communism as a flexible aesthetic rather than a belief system. They are a friend pair most of us have seen or participated in: Bobbi, outspoken and charismatic; Frances, mute and profoundly mousey. Every baby hair on her head proclaims her total discomfort in her body and in the world.

“You know your whole silent thing makes everyone think you’re enigmatic and interesting,” Bobbi says cuttingly to Frances, the ultimate introvert slur. In an accurate depiction of many early-20s friendships, the two spend the entire series deeply wounding each other and then making up by writing grand apology emails.

Jason Momoa Is Reportedly Dating Eiza González After Split From Lisa Bonet

Jason Momoa is reportedly moving on from ex-wife Lisa Bonet. According to People, the Aquaman star is currently dating I Care a Lot actor Eiza González.

Momoa is currently filming the latest installment of the Fast & Furious series, Fast X, in Italy. Though it’s unconfirmed whether or not González will appear in the film, she previously played the role of Madame M in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. While it seems reasonable to speculate that the pair may have met on set, this could be a coincidence.

“They are dating. He cares about her. He’s in a great place, working on Fast X,” a source told People. “He’s quite busy and he’s in a good place.”

Another source added, “They’re both busy with work but are having fun together. It’s nothing serious yet.” In April, Momoa attended the premiere of González’s film, Ambulance.

Prior to this budding romance, Jason Momoa was in a 16-year relationship with actor Lisa Bonet. In January, the former couple announced their split after four years of marriage. Momoa and Bonet share two children: 14-year-old Lola and 13-year-old Nakoa-Wolf. Momoa also shares a strong bond with his stepdaughter, Zoë Kravitz.

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times,” Momoa and Bonet said in a joint statement on January 12, per People. “A revolution is unfolding and our family is no exception… Feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our family news that we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty,” they continued. “The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become… Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail J & L.”

Though there were reconciliation rumors in later months, Momoa shut down speculation at the Oscars. “We’re not back together,” he told Access Hollywood on March 27. “We’re family. We have two beautiful children together.”

Selena Gomez Wore a Sultry Strapless Dress With a Super High Slit to the SNL After-Party

During Selena Gomez’s Saturday Night Live opening monologue, the first-time host declared that she’s “manifesting love.” Her after-party dress certainly couldn’t hurt.

Following her hosting duties on May 14, Gomez attended the celebration in a strapless black Michael Stewart dress with a thigh-high slit, which she kept closed with one hand in multiple photographs. Despite any wardrobe malfunction concerns, Gomez was all smiles with a lovely peachy lip and her wavy, long bob framing her face. She matched her dress with an inky black manicure and topped the whole ensemble off with a pair of sequined silver mules.

According to Elle, Selena Gomez was joined at the after-party by SNL musical guest Post Malone and her longtime friend and on-screen love interest, Cara Delevingne. However, we can’t help but wonder how things went for SNL cast member Punkie Johnson, who propositioned the star during her opening monologue.

“One reason I’m really excited to host SNL is because I’m single,” Gomez joked at the top of the show. “And I’ve heard that SNL is a great place to find romance. Emma Stone met her husband here, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, and Pete and….Machine Gun Kelly.”

She continued, “Since I don’t really want to try the dating apps, I just want to put it out in the universe that I’m manifesting love. I would like to say that I’m looking for my soulmate, but at this point, I will take anyone.”

What followed were a series of volunteers, with varying degrees of success. To Kyle Mooney, Gomez simply said, “No. No. No. No,” while James Austin Johnson was let down a little more gently. However, Gomez did not immediately shoot down comedian Punkie Johnson. “You know, I’m so sorry. These men out here harassing you,” Johnson said to Gomez. “It’s just unacceptable, boo. You’re just out here doing your job. Damn. But…you know…I’ll do it.”
