17 Excellent Memorial Day Fashion Deals Worth Shopping Early

Memorial Day weekend is fast approaching, meaning it’s high time to nail down your warm-weather wardrobe. Curious to find the best clothing sales Memorial Day has to offer? We’re right there with you.

While we don’t know the full details of every Memorial Day sale happening just yet, this month’s blowouts are shaping up to be some of the best we’ve ever seen—perfect for kicking your summer style up a notch. Sure, the long weekend is still a ways off, but you can get a headstart on your wish list with some of the best early-bird Memorial Day deals (hint: slashed prices on wedding guest dresses, chic swimsuits, and comfy leggings).

Of course, with so many great places to shop from online, it can be tricky to keep track of all the sales going on, which is why we combed through the depths of interwebs to find you the best clothing sales for Memorial Day leading up to the holiday. Whether you’re eyeing a pair of sunglasses for your next getaway or cute biker shorts to (not) work out in, you can get a head start with these early best Memorial Day clothing sales.

Shopped ’til you dropped, but still want more? You’re in luck: Score all the best Memorial Day sales  of 2022 across the biggest retailers across beauty, mattresses, and home and tech.

Best Memorial Day Fashion & Accessory Sales 2022

No, the details haven’t yet been announced for the biggest Memorial Day sales of the month. But you can still snag a ton of discounted favorites and trending styles while you wait for those events to start—just look below.

Prepare your credit cards. The mega-retailer hasn’t revealed exactly what its Memorial Day blowout will look like just yet, but you already know what to expect: Steals on summer staples like floral dresses, denim shorts, breezy T-shirts, and designer handbags.

Amazon always comes through with the home and tech deals, but discounts in the fashion department have been equally strong (if not more) lately. Below, two must-haves for the perfect summer outfit in 2022.

Shopbop is a destination for all kinds of cool-girl pieces worthy of a mirror snap, like this remixed rugby shirt and this woven tote, for which we may or may not already have the tracking details. Expect more details about Shopbop’s Memorial Day sale soon.

Free People is likely to go all out for Memorial Day this year, considering the boho retailer hasn’t had a major sale for a few months now—good news for fans of whisper-soft tees, flowy dresses, and cozy loungewear. For now, we’ll be shopping these clearance items.

From frayed cutoffs to a “whisper”-thin white tank, Madewell is offering 30% off hundreds of essential summer styles. No code required at checkout.

Surprisingly, British brand ASOS knows how to do a great Memorial Day sale. The retailer celebrated with 20% off sitewide last year, and we’re keeping our eyes peeled for a similar promotion this month. But hey, the site already has some pretty good deals on party dresses and Bella Hadid-approved cargo pants.

ASOS Design Contour Cami Ruched Dress

Old Navy has been running some amazing sales throughout May, and we’re pretty sure they’ll all culminate with one huge Memorial Day blowout. Until we know what to expect, you can stock up on wear-everywhere tanks and shorts.

Anthropologie’s Memorial Day sales are the stuff of legend, since the retailer is known to discount its entire sale section for the long weekend. We can’t guarantee that’ll happen this year, but we’re adding these styles to our cart just in case.

Best Memorial Day Activewear Sales 2022

You’ve come to the right place for all the yoga pants, running shorts, and sports bras you’ll need this summer and beyond. It’s still early, so check back soon for sale updates from athletic retailers like Zappos, The North Face, and Walmart.

Who are we to pass up an Alo sale—especially when the whole site is 20% off? While the Aloversary sale isn’t technically pegged to Memorial Day (it’s a limited-time sale), we imagine they’ll do something similar to celebrate the holiday weekend. (But there’s no guarantee that your favorites will still be in stock, so go, go, go!)

Lululemon’s secret sale section is brimming with new markdowns that are perfect for outdoor workouts. Consider your yoga/run/brunch outfit sorted while you wait to see what the retailer’s Memorial Day sale turns out to be.

There aren’t any details about Bandier’s sale just yet, but it offered 30% off of a ton of bestsellers last year. Prepare your cart with these sale styles.

After giving shoppers up to 40% off hundreds of workout essentials last Memorial Day weekend, Nike is most likely gearing up for a similar sale this May. (It doesn’t hurt that a ton of top-rated finds are already discounted, too.)

If last year’s Adidas promotion—25% off sitewide, to be exact—is any indication, you can expect huge discounts as Memorial Day approaches. Until more details are announced, enjoy these sale section finds.

Girlfriend Collective will most likely be announcing a major Memorial Day sale in the next few days. If you can’t wait until then—who has the patience?—get an early start with the size-inclusive workout essentials below.

Best Memorial Day Swim Sales 2022

While this happens to be a great time of year to buy mattresses and home decor, you can score huge discounts on your favorite swimwear brands. Dive into our favorite summer sales below.

We’re just as excited for the upcoming details of Solid & Striped’s Memorial Day sale as you are, since last year’s deal was 25% off of everything. While you wait for this year’s sale to begin, you can still grab these carry-on-ready sale items.

Beach season is upon us, which is all the reason you need to buy a new swimsuit. And just in time for warmer weather, Aerie is currently offering 40% off all swimwear, including sale styles, no promo code necessary.

One of our favorite sustainable swimwear brands, Vitamin A offered shoppers up to 60% off bikinis, one-pieces, and resort styles last year. Expect similar discounts this time around—and add these half-off gems to your vacation lineup.

Sunburnt Blush Is Summer’s Prettiest, It-Girl Approved Trend

We spend most of summer trying to avoid getting a sunburn. However, faking the look with sunburnt blush is TikTok’s latest favorite makeup trend, and we’re not mad at it. While would never endorse burning yourself on purpose, there is something about that flushed, sun-drenched look that’s so pretty.

It’s easy to see why the look is gaining popularity. It gives you cute and innocent vibes similar to “e-girl” blush, and is so fresh and natural looking. It’s hard to trace the look’s exact roots on TikTok— many videos reference a mix of Hailey Bieber’s 2019 Pop Magazine shoot, and Iris Law’s get ready with me video from the same year— as the sunburnt look has been floating around for some time now, but it’s certainly gained popularity over the past few months.

However, we’re definitely seeing a shift towards more youthful flushes on the red carpet in real time—Beiber and Addison Rae are major fans of the look, and Bella Hadid had sported some flushed cheeks at this year’s Met Gala. Instead of a lifting placement high on the cheekbones, celebrities and their makeup artists are opting for a softer, more natural placement right on the apples of the cheeks, which gives more of a “just came in from the outdoors” effect than a majorly sculpted look.

Hilary Duff’s Barely-There Makeup Is Seriously Incredible

Hilary Duff knows how to serve up a beauty look. First she inspired our tween hair and makeup moments while playing our on-screen BFF, Lizzie McGuire, in the noughties. And, her Y2K spiky buns, colourful clip-in extensions, butterfly clips and glitter eyeshadow are back trending on TikTok for a new-gen rendition.

But these days, her glam has grown-up with her, and it still looks incredible. The latest? Duff hopped on the clean girl aesthetic with a barely-there makeup look to star on this month’s cover of Women’s Health. The Body Issue saw her stripped back, naked and baring her body alongside a few home-truths about coming to a place of acceptance after struggling with body image issues in the past.

Posting the cover shot to her Instagram, Duff thanked photographer, Daniella Midenge, writing, “I love these photos so much, thank you for capturing a moment in time where I felt both completely vulnerable but powerful.” And, she also gave a shout-out to her glam squad and makeup artist, Kelsey Deenihan Fisher, commenting “I live for the no make up/make up look you gave me and the ‘sheen’ spray was 👏”.

We couldn’t agree more. And in case you’re wondering exactly how Fisher created the freshest, dewiest skin going, luckily, she shared the products she used to create the look on Duff, to her Instagram. For the base, Fisher used Chanel’s Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint in the shade Light Deep, which like its name suggests, is light as water, with the prettiest hint of tint. Duff’s cheeks were sun-kissed with Tower 28’s Bronzino Illuminating Cream Bronzer in the shade West Coast to add definition.

Fisher kept Duff’s eyelids subtly sheeny with Kjaer Weis Cream Eyeshadow in Golden, topped of with Chanel’s transparent Baume Essentiel for a glossy wet-look effect, and finished things off with naturally-full looking lashes, thanks to BareMinerals Maximist Phyto-Fibre Volumizing Mascara. Hilary’s lips were veiled in Chanel’s Rouge Coco Baume in the shade Natural Charm.

As for that sheen spray that the actress couldn’t get enough of? Fisher used Sol de Janiero’s Rio Sunset Glow Oil mixed with Supergoop’s Play SPF 50 spray all over her body for luxe, glossy looking skin.

It’s the lastest in a long line of pretty beauty looks. Recently, Hilary gave us her own spin on the off-duty model bun. And before that she posted a cute snatched bun with swervy edges for extra pretty detail.

So for a Y2K beauty queen who’s going the distance, Hilary Duff remains as much of a muse today as she did in the 2000s.

Amanda Seyfried Revealed a New Haircut in a Cute Selfie

Amanda Seyfried excels at being many things; among them, a person with rather long, blonde hair — you could say it’s her signature look — and a brilliant artist in front of the camera. The latter is true when taking selfies as well, apparently, which is how she showed off that she’s no longer the former.

The award-winning actor posted a very artsy selfie to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, May 10, in which she has clearly gotten several inches of her hair chopped off. She models the haircut by tilting her head, showing only a fraction of her face, letting the wavy style take up most of the composition as it cascades over her sleeveless chartreuse top.

It’s hard to tell exactly how short Amanda Seyfriend cut her hair — trust me, I tried to calculate the angle of her head versus where her shoulder starts, and I basically turned into that floating-head Reading Rainbow TikTok meme — but there are definitely several fewer inches of length going on since she was seen at Variety‘s 2022 Power of Women event last week, when it reached the middle of her back. At this point, until we see more pictures, only her stylist, DJ Quintero, knows for sure just how short she went.

The Best Dry Shampoos to Refresh Greasy Hair

The best dry shampoo can do wonders. It can extend a blowout for days, bring life to limp hair, and make it look as if you’ve actually showered when you’re simply too lazy to wash your hair (no judgment). Despite the fact that most of us rely on it for some part of our routine, not all dry shampoos are created equal. They can be sticky, weigh hair down, or leave a white cast that more closely resembles dandruff than freshly washed hair.

Whether you have thick or thin, curly or straight hair, we rounded up options that actually deliver (no powdery residue here). Scroll on for the best dry shampoo formulas for all hair types, and get ready to stretch out your wash days.

Gwyneth Paltrow Just Explained the Gemstone-Encrusted Goop Diapér Stunt

On Wednesday afternoon, Goop posted an ad for a 12-pack of disposable diapers (The Diapér) for $120. The Diapér is scented, jewel-encrusted, and lined with wool. Naturally, the internet was outraged, but according to self-aware queen Gwyneth Paltrow, that was the plan all along.

“If treating diapers like a luxury makes you mad, so should taxing them like a luxury,” the Goop founder said in a video on Instagram.

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Paltrow explains that the brand’s intent when creating the fake product was to highlight a real problem: the burden of the diaper tax. Despite being a necessity for new parents, diapers (sans “é”) are taxed at a higher rate in 33 states than other essentials, says Paltrow, leaving 1 in 3 families struggling to afford them.

Having raised two children, Paltrow can empathize: babies are stinky! Diapers are expensive—even ones without crystals! And for what? While Paltrow admits that eliminating the diaper tax won’t solve the entire issue of diaper affordability, it’s a start. Goop also partnered with Baby2Baby, a nonprofit that provides newborn goods to families in need, including diapers manufactured at the fraction of a cost, according to Goop’s website.

“Depending on the state, this sales tax can add between 1.5 percent and 7 percent to their cost. (We priced our fictional Diapérs at $120, because that is what the diaper tax could cost families annually),” reads the website’s explanation.

Princess Beatrice Is Queen of the Red Carpet in a Busy Floral Dress by The Vampire’s Wife

Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were guests of honor last night as they attended the preview of ‘A Gallop Through History,’ a show taking place as part of the Royal Windsor Horse Show this week.

The 33-year-old royal wowed in a floor-length floral gown by The Vampire’s Wife, a brand beloved by not only the princess, but also her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge. The brain child of Susie Cave, the wife of the musician Nick, the brand has become a go-to for the social set, with three guests wearing her designs to the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018.

Bea accessorized with statement drop earrings in a feather design as well as a chic bracelet watch. Meanwhile, her husband Edo looked dapper in a velvet tuxedo jacket and bow tie. Their eight-month-old daughter Sienna, meanwhile, had been left at home—despite having a starring role in the proceedings later this week.

‘A Gallop Through History’ will look at the Queen’s life-long love of horses, and forms part of the celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee. The show, which features over a 1,000 cast-members, will take place across the next few days at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, with the final edition broadcast on television on Sunday evening.

Ten of the Queen’s 12 great-grandchildren will be making their first appearance together as part of the show’s finale, sitting beside each other in a horse-drawn carriage. The only ones missing will be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex‘s children Archie and Lilibet, as they are not yet in the country for the Jubilee celebrations. It has also been reported that the Queen’s youngest granddaughter, Lady Louise Windsor, will be driving her late grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh’s carriage.

Goop Is Trolling Us With This Gemstone-Covered Diapér…but Why?

Goop is selling a 12-pack of disposable diapers (the “Diapér”) for $120. The diaper is scented, jewel-encrusted, and lined with wool. It’s obviously a troll.

But like…why?

“Meet The Diapér. Our new disposable diaper lined with virgin alpaca wool and fastened with amber gemstones, known for their ancient emotional-cleansing properties,” reads the copy on the Instagram post announcing the product. “Infused with a scent of jasmine and bergamot for a revitalized baby. Dropping tomorrow at 11a.m. EST at $120 for a pack of 12.”

This is clearly a joke—wouldn’t the wool give the baby a rash? And there’s nothing disposable about amber… Even though brands have sort of stopped doing the April Fool’s Day fake product launch, this would at least make sense on April first. But on May 11? We’re just confused.

Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Smart money says it’s a way to get attention and drive traffic to the site tomorrow morning for the “drop.” As for what will actually be announced…it could have to do with Roe (the brand is pro-choice), the current baby formula shortage, or both! Or neither. Seems like it has something to do with babies and/or parenthood, but that’s honestly as far as our analysis goes. Both of those topics seem kind of heavy for a joke, but who knows?

Goop herself, Gwyneth Paltrow, hasn’t posted anything about it, instead using Instagram to celebrate Valentino’s birthday (happy birthday!). No answers there.

There is, of course, another explanation: The product is real. Maybe it’s a joke gift and the money goes to charity or maybe…maybe people will let their babies poop in The Diapér. We don’t think so, but we can’t rule it out as a possibility. And if so, who do you think will be the first celeb mom to buy it?

Christine Chiu Drops Her Skin-Care Routine

The testing is also for her own research. Chiu recalls the day she realized aging was her biggest skin-care concern. “I remember the day when Dr. Chiu looked at me—it’s one of those things you never ever forget, like the birth of your child—and said, ‘Don’t smile so hard. You’re forming wrinkles around your eyes.’ And I’m like, what?! In your late twenties, you’re not worried about forming wrinkles. And then in your thirties that starts happening and it’s like, fuck, this is really happening!”

To help combat fine lines, Chiu likens her skin-care routine to a Marvel movie. “I’m the mom of a boy, so my whole life is Avengers right now. I like to think that all of my skin care collectively are like the Avengers. Everyone does something and together they fight crime—or aging, which is the villain. Aging is the villain these days. But they do it all in their own unique ways and they don’t all need to punch at the same time.”

Ahead, Chiu shares her superhero lineup of products for Glamour‘s Drop the Routine.

My cleanser

I use different cleansers for day and night. At night I like an exfoliating cleanser because your face has gone through so much in a day, especially with makeup and pollutants, so you need to clean and strip it pretty well. I’ve been using SkinCeuticals Clarifying Cleanser forever because I have lightly acneic skin. During the day I use a cleanser that feels good and adds some nutrients to my face. I love the 707 Flora Core Cleanser. It’s 25 milligram CBD full spectrum, hemp extract. I also use DermaE Skin De-Stress Calming CBD Cleanser. And I started trying this new one, Allies of skin, Molecular Silk Amino Hydrating Cleanser.

707 Flora Core Cleanser

Derma E Skin De-Stress Calming CBD Cleanser

My toner

I have the same philosophy for toner as cleanser. During the day I like something that’s refreshing and balancing, so I use Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Balancing Toner. At night I use SkinCeuticals LHA toner, which is also a heavy duty, stripper of all sorts of dirty things that happen to your face throughout the day.

Dr. Barbara Sturm’s Balancing Toner

SkinCeuticals LHA Toner

My serums

I’ve been using SkinCeuticals Phloretin C F for a very long time. I also use SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic. I’ve been using those since my early thirties or late twenties. But now as I’m aging a little bit, I have to step it up a bit with SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum and the SkinMedica HA-5 Hydrating Rejuvenator. Those are medical grade, heavily backed by science and sold in physician offices, which means the efficacy level and the concentration is significantly higher. It’s science, there are papers on it. On my own skin I see it working, but also I get to see all of the data and research that goes into it.

My moisturizer

During the day I like to use something lighter so I can put makeup over it. At night, that’s when I slather on. During the day I use SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture. It keeps the face moisturized, and it’s not too heavy. It doesn’t break me out. I can put makeup over it. At night I use SkinMedica Lytera and that’s helping with hyperpigmentation.

SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture

SkinMedica Lytera

My eye cream

I use the Skin Better InterFuse Eye Treatment and TNS Eye Repair from SkinMedica at night. During the day, I use SkinMedica Instant Bright Eye Cream. I used to be so delicate about eye cream and tap it in. Now I slap that stuff on, take a big glob of it, slap it all over, all over under, all over on the side, all over on the lid. I go to sleep literally with a glob of eye cream on my eyes.

Skin Better InterFuse Eye Treatment

SkinMedica TNS Eye Repair

My face mask

Face masks are where I like to play. My staple is SkinCeuticals Bio-Cellulose Hydrating Mask. It’s a pretty easy hydrating mask, with great quality ingredients. I also love to go to Korean beauty stores and pick up a million masks. I have tried everything—snails, fungus, gold caviar, you name it. It’s like treasure hunting—once in a blue moon, you’ll find something that really works. But most of the time, it’s just interesting and fun and hasn’t negatively affected my skin.

SkinCeuticals Bio-Cellulose Hydrating Mask

My spot treatments

I actually steal from our office. So I self-chemical peel. I use PCA, which is a pretty strong chemical peel. I use a Q-tip and spot treat and it zaps any type of acne breakouts.

My retinol

I’m using SkinMedica Retinol 0.25 Complex and SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0. I don’t do it every night. I’m not a huge fan, but I know that it’s a necessary step.

SkinMedica Retinol 0.25 Complex

SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0

My face oil

I only use face oils before a glam session, because some of the makeup that’s put on is very drying for my skin and destroys it. I use Koh Gen Do T3 Premium Oil, but I’m a big fan of body oil. I use Mutha. Founder Hope Smith is a really good friend of mine. I was her guinea pig when she was developing her body butter from her kitchen. She would send me all of her concoctions in little jars and I put them all over my body. I’m extremely proud of how she’s built the company and brand.

Koh Gen Do T3 Premium Oil

Mutha Body Oil

My face mist

It doesn’t make or break my aging process, but it feels good and wakes me up in the morning. I use Allies of Skin Molecular Savior Probiotics Treatment Mist. And then, once in a while, I use good ol’ Evian. Sometimes your face just needs water.

Allies of Skin Molecular Savior Probiotics Treatment Mist

Evian Facial Spray

My sunscreen

Sunscreen is so important. I love Skin Better’s Smart Tone Compact. It has a little color and adjusts to the tone of your skin. And it’s SPF 68, which is great. Usually when I get a spray tan, or if I’m going to put on makeup, I use that. Otherwise, if I’m going out for a hike, I use SkinCeuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense 50.

Skin Better Sun Better Tone Smart SPF 68 Sunscreen

SkinCeuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50

My lip balm

I’m super old school so I still use Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Stain. I use EOS medicated lip balm, which feels so luxurious. If I’m going out for a hike or just running errands, I use the good ol’ Blistex.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Stain

Eos Medicated Lip Care Balm

My devices

Because I have easy access to the medical spa, I like to utilize the devices. High frequency is something I use all the time because my skin does act up with acne and that takes care of it pretty quickly. I’m still a big proponent of microdermabrasion. And I use light therapy, not only for my skin health, but my emotional health.
